Valeria Carriles Martinez | Cross-Border Immigration Attorney
Valeria is a cross-border attorney licensed in both Mexico and the United States, whose practice focuses on immigration and civil litigation for individuals, families, and business owners navigating legal matters between both countries. Her work is defined by a strong sense of responsibility, cultural understanding, and a commitment to helping clients make informed decisions that protect their future.
Valeria was born and raised in Mexico City, in a family of entrepreneurs where women played a central role in building and leading successful businesses. Growing up surrounded by strong, self-made women instilled in her a deep appreciation for resilience, independence, and leadership, values that continue to shape her professional approach and her connection with clients, particularly within the Mexican community in Los Angeles.
She earned her law degree with honors from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), one of the most prestigious institutions in Latin America, and completed graduate studies in Amparo Law, developing a strong foundation in constitutional and civil rights matters in Mexico. Seeking to expand her cross-border capabilities, she later obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Southern California (USC) Gould School of Law, equipping her with the legal framework to effectively advise clients across U.S. and Mexican jurisdictions.
Early in her career, Valeria worked at a prominent law firm in Mexico City, where she gained experience in corporate law and civil litigation. This background gave her a practical understanding of both legal complexity and the business realities her clients face, particularly entrepreneurs and business owners operating across borders.
In parallel, Valeria served as a public figure for an international beauty brand, leading conferences and workshops focused on women’s empowerment and self-esteem. This experience strengthened her ability to communicate, connect, and advocate, skills that now translate directly into her legal practice, where trust and clarity are essential.
Since joining the firm at its inception, Valeria has played a key role in its growth and development. Her leadership and cross-border expertise led to her becoming a partner after her admission to the California Bar.
Today, Valeria focuses her practice on immigration and civil litigation, guiding clients through complex legal processes with a strategic and human-centered approach. Her bicultural and bilingual background allows her to bridge legal systems while also understanding the cultural and emotional dimensions behind each case.
Beyond her legal work, Valeria is a wife, mother of three, entrepreneur, and professional makeup artist. Her multifaceted life gives her a unique perspective and a deep sense of empathy, particularly for women balancing family, business, and personal growth. She is committed to empowering her clients not only legally, but personally, helping them move forward with confidence and clarity.
Admitted to practice law in Mexico and California, Valeria is dedicated to building bridges between both countries, supporting the Mexican community abroad, and contributing to the development of future professionals in both the legal and business worlds.

The Madero & Carriles team is made up of experienced legal professionals committed to helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate cross-border matters between the United States and Mexico with clarity, strategy, and care.
